Merchandising/Business Operations Cattle   Companion Animal Horse

May 22, 2007
Volume 2, Number 5

Summer can be an exciting time, spending time with family: “June weddings”, vacations, golf or fishing afternoons, and baseball games. I encourage you to take time with family, friends, or just to refresh yourself with some “quality time” and doing something you enjoy!

Producers of all livestock also like to take time to be with their loved ones – their companions. As rural America is changing, I encourage each of you to examine your trade area and see what is different now compared to 5 years ago and how you have or have not adapted to the change. Land O' Lakes Purina Feeds, LLC has changed as well with many new product introductions, new marketing programs, and they are also looking at new distribution centers to better provide you quality products in a timely fashion.

Have a safe summer, enjoy the family, and take time to contact the new members in your trade area that also enjoy their companions. Hold a meeting, sponsor an event, build a display of new products, be willing to be creative and reap the rewards!

Good selling!

Lee

Effect of Supplemental Summer Mineral

Many of our areas got drenched with rain this past month, giving hope to cattle producers.  With pairs going to grass and breeding approaching, now is a good time to remind ourselves and our producers of the benefits of using Aureo (CTC) in our minerals:  improvements in breeding, footrot reduction, increased calf weaning weights and more pounds of beef producer per acre.  With pasture rents going up, forage and grain costs increasing and calf prices reduced from the past few years -- we owe it to producers to help them gain more from their dollars invested with us.  Adding pounds with a healthy reward is a great idea, so don't miss out on it!  Click Here to view attached Alpharma bulletin on the benefits seen by the use of Aureo.
