| Winter Feeding Recommendations for Koi |
|
For customers raising koi, be sure they understand the benefits of the Mazuri®
Koi Platinum diets for the koi's winter care. In an effort to provide the
freshest, best quality koi diets, Mazuri® recommends the use of the highly
digestible Mazuri® Koi Platinum diets for winter use.
Feeding rates will decline as water temperature declines. Once water temperature
falls below 70o F (21.1o C), only offer food one time per
day. Feed only what the koi will consume in 3 - 5 minutes -- do not overfeed.
Remove any uneaten food after 5 minutes. When water temperature drops into the
low 40'so F (4.4o C), discontinue feeding.
Resume feeding the Platinum diets once water temperature returns to the mid
40'so F.
For more information on Mazuri® Koi Platinum diets, visit our Mazuri® website at
www.mazuri.com.
